Looking for more information...

I'm looking for information on the proper techniques for field dressing wild hogs... I would also like to state that I'm an avid muzzleloader and archery hunter. I don't have that much desire to hunt with a high powered rifle. It really doesn't seem to me that there is that much sport to it. I'm sure there are those who will disagree. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy shooting rifles , I just don't desire to hunt with them. I also hunt turkey and coyote.

I like what you write how you hunt. Do you ever use any dogs?

Hunting with dogs...That's a Joke!

No, I haven't hunted with dogs... and I probably never will because I honestly don't think that is actual hunting! Sending dogs out to find your animal, chase it down, back to you or whatever they were sent out to do... makes no sense to me. How that can be hunting.....I haven't quite figured that one out yet. I'm sure this will piss of alot of people off, but it's probably the same people that think fair chase is hunting in high fence areas. Confinement is not fair chase...I'm sure this is defined in some dictionary somewhere...read it and live by it. (State of Texas...and all exotic game hunts in the United States)! My quote "THE CLOSER THE BETTER, ONE SHOT ONE KILL". If you can't sit in the middle of 1000 acres and kill something ( if game is present there ) then you need to work on developing your hunting skills. Looking to here back on this one....

Yes, I would not appreciate hunting with dogs, long noisy chase and many participants. However, there is a dog made for a solitary primitive hunter. They assisted hunters armed with bow and arrow or a spear for millenia back in history. You may see them in my website http://www.nordicart.mulitservers.com/
or http://www.laikabreeds.multiservers.com/
This is a dog with silent fast chase, treeing or baying within close range and barking only when game is stopped or treed. He hunts with you and for you, does not like big gatherings, presence of other unfamiliar dogs and very devoted to you and your family. I just thought that may be this is the only kind of hunting dog, which would fit you hunting style, at least on some occasions.
