Looking For Employment?

Hey everyone...considering a reloaction and of course this great state is right at the top of the list.

Was laid off in June, and the job hunting here in Colorado has been severely bleek to say the least!

Not set on any place/region in Alaska in-particular, but wondering if anyone has reasonable employment prospects that I may consider?

I have been a senior Operations Manager for the past 10+ years, so as a manager you all know we have no real skills!!! LOL!

Logistics operations for the most part contracted to large manufacturing corps, like Dell, HP, International Paper & Agilent technologies...but large scale warehouse start-up/implementations, training & documentation, mentoring & development are my fortes of course.

Here is the deal though. I am more than willing to do anything that pays me enough to get by comfortably. To give examples, at a young age I worked in and asst managed a KFC for 6+ years, later on and bookending a few years in the service I worked inside a packing house cutting meat and also drove a delivery truck for them for another 6+ years before getting into the ops management roles. So as you may be able to tell, I am not above one job or another

Of course as an avid outdoorsman, Hunting, fishing, etc... this type of related work would be my first & ideal choice over others. So even though I do not have experience there, I would be more than willing to learn the ropes being a laborer around an outfitter/guide operation for a summer or two to earn my wings so to speak. Maybe at a lodge, camp, etc...

Any feedback, advise, direction, opportunities or OFFERS that anyone can provide would be much appreciated. Pretty much free as a bird right now so would not take much for me to relocate fairly shortly. It's just me and my hunting dog! Can sure as heck send someone my resume if needed!

Thanks,
HeavyC

HeavyC

Sorry to hear about your situation as I've been in the same boat since the 2nd week of Nov. Was out there during 1st rifle, no bull but I really enjoyed my hunt/stay in Co. I was thinking of relocating to Co because I haven't been able to find any work around NC. Maybe that's out of the question. Tough times for everybody right now. Good luck on your search and kept us posted.

Re: Looking For Employment?

Thanks, I am just getting worried as I already ran out of my savings!!! Going on unemployment now I guess

...Might not be bad out here if you have any skills! High Tech jobs are fairly plentiful, and other skilled labor jobs. Like I mentioned, I was a a manager w/o a degree so it makes it pretty tough. If there are upper mgt jobs they often want a degree...DOHHH! Should went to college!

Hang in there! So what do you do? Maybe I can keep an eye out while I am searching around!

Later,
HC Out!

HeavyC, I wish you the best

HeavyC,

I wish you the best of luck in finding what you are looking for. If I had something to throw out there I would but I don't. Glad to see you are on here though

best of luck Marty. You're

best of luck Marty. You're gonna miss the hunting down here... on second thought you probably forget about all us lower 48ers once you've got moose and griz in your yard.
