Looking for bulls

Recently drew a cow tag for area 39 in Wy. Small area, seen some elk. Shot an old cow. Can anyone tell me if this is a good area for shooting 300 plus bulls in archery season? Seen some hunters, but most seem to be road hunting. How can I obtain information on the size of bulls in d:D ifferent areas?

I can help

Not to toot my horn, but I'm pretty much the only one with an idea of the % of bulls being harvested out of each unit each year.  Unit 39 in Wyoming kills a pretty high % of bulls.  It's not a great trophy area.  Of course good bulls can come from anywhere, but if you're trying to put the odds in your favor, you'll want less than 20% of the bulls to be harvested.  In unit 39 you're looking at 35%.

Thank you

Thank you for the feedback. My friend and I are sitting on 5 points for Wy. Looking to hunt 300 plus bulls in archery season, if you have any suggestions as to what units would be good I would appreciate it.

If you are serious about

If you are serious about scouting... and therefore getting yourself into the right unit to maximize your chances at getting a 300 inch bull, than you need to visit exbio's site and make a quick purchase. The research he has compiled and then adjusted and evaluated is amazing. I highly suggest checking it out.

I remember when you first started this service.  How is it going?  Do you have many clients now?

You will have to start

You will have to start looking at the data. Harder units to draw will probably hold better elk. But I just read a article that said the trophy elk units in Wy is changeing. They are changing because numbers are down. Elk numbers that is. The wolf population is really starting to put a hurting on the elk. So are the bears in certain areas. So the areas will probably change over the next couple years.
