Looking into BC for an Elk hunt

I've been doing the research and realize I have to be lucky and rich to get a quality guided 1x1 Elk hunt in a dream location. Well, I'm not much of either but found a place in BC, Sawtooth Outfitters, that may be the ticket for 2008.

Times being what they are and the ole, "Who knows what tomorrow brings" routine makes you look a little closer before spending the chavos. I've been on a couple of those, one for bear and one for deer and boy does that hurt when it goes south.

I sent a few e-mails spoke with a reference and you know how it goes.I obviously have some time but I'm looking for suggestions and references. If anyone has been with Sawtooth then release the hounds and send me some responses. Love to hear em. If you have a better choice tell me why please.

I believe Sawtooth just bought Grizzly Basin and it seems the guy from Grizzly is doing all the writing. I'll call em of course but rather have some knowledge beforehand. I've been on another site for outfitter reviews but BC reviews are few and far between.

Ok I'm all ears. Think

Looking into BC for an Elk hunt

I went on two hunts with Wilf boardman of "Grizzly Basin" outfitters. I was successfull both times on 6x6 bulls. The first trip I scored a nice 300" and the second trip I brought home a pretty 320 incher. also on the second trip my father killed a respectable 300" 5 x 6. We had to work hard for our elk. The weather was rotten and the mountains are steep. During the second hunt my father and I where the only two out of 10 to score. The other where not willing to work hard, deal with the weather, and climb the steep hills everyday. Be in excellent shape, have a good attitude, and be willing to walk your feet off, and you stand a good chance with them.
