looking for any tricks of the trade

Thinking about taking a brown bear this year in Kodiak.  just wondering if anyone knows of any tricks for judging the size of the bear.

You don't say where you are from but the best advise is to find a good guide which is required if you are not a resident of Alaska.

Critter is right NR, guide

Critter is right NR, guide required. Also the largest part of the area is draw tag only and that draw has taken place this year.The norh end has fall, and spring registration hunts,these are closely monitered and can be closed anytime the harvest quota is met.

i live in kodiak, and would be on the road system.  this is just the first time i have considered taking one.  no luck with the draw this year.

Good luck on your hunt ,keep us posted,. I never hunted the north end, we went to Larsen bay till it became so popular, then the boat guys started raiding out crab pots or stealing them. Just got to be a hassel. Alex
