I am looking for a 1911 model pistol that is relieble and not expensive so that rules out kimber, colt , s&w, any sugestion on this let me know thanks
Springfield Armory and COLT are the Only real choices to go for! If your looking for the REAL thing if you want to buy a cheap imitation then you'll get what you pay for but for reliability and consistency stick with the Big Names.
For the money, I'd look around and try to find a used Springfield Armory in good shape. They are reliable. Take virtually any ammunition. And you can frequently pick up a used one in excellent shape for a very reasonable price. As stated above, Colt also makes a reliable gun. However, you will pay about 50% more due to the fact that it is a Colt. In my opinion, not worth it, but then I'm a gun user and not a collector. Either way, if you purchase a Springfield or a Colt, they will appreciate in value. If you purchase one of the cheaper brands, who knows??? Could turn out to get a reputation as a clunker and you'd be hard pressed to get your money back when you sold it.
But the Mil Spec 1911A1 From Springfield. I bought one in .45 ACP at a gun show for 400. If I hadn't been so excited about ifnding it I could probbably talked him down to 350. TRY to talk him down 50 bucks less than what he wants. look at your next local gunshow and you'll probabbly find one. Good Luck eith that
