Lookin' to go hog-wild in GA!

Just moved to Atlanta GA for school and I miss my hunting grounds in Nebraska! But I'm excited to see GA has feral hogs to hunt - sounds exciting!

...But where can I go? Does anyone have contact info for land to hunt on? Georgia's DNR pages give great rules and regs for hunting but didn't help me out on the WHERE TO HUNT issue. Are there private landowners out there who need a group of hunters to get rid of at least a few hogs on their land? Or are GA public lands the way to go (if so, which ones?)??

Check out Savannah Wild Life Refuge. I have hnted it for many years some good some bad. Biggest hog taken outta there in our party was over 300 lbs. Had a couple 200+ and most from 75 to 150. Better when it is very wet but make sure you get some SNAKE BOOTS, you will need them.

I suggest you go to your local wal-mart, k-mart, or sporting goods store and ask for the hunting regulations booklet. It lists all the WMA and national forrest lands in the state. The WMA list tells you if they have hog hunting and when. A very good sorce of hunting info for GA is Georgia Outdoor News (GON) the mag or website are full of info. Good luck and welcome to GA.
