Come on LI Sportman: you think people like that are on this site sharing their stories...There are those out there who are threaten by others ."O No" your going to shoot my bigggggg buck! Let me ignore you and you'll go away. Idiots! I've not only shared stories but have given places and spots where people should hunt. But your right .....What goes around does come around.

You get out of Life what you put into it ! If that means getting a tip on where a big buck might be from a fellow hunter and returning the favor than so be it. I just wish there were deer on the golf course i work on , every morning out on the course thinking that would be a great tree for a stand. Like a crackhead !

I'm looking for good scope caps for my nikon prostaff and slughunter ................anybody know ?

I finally got out to Rocky Point today, about an hour late, too. My baby boy woke up as I was leaving, so I hung around to make sure he stayed in bed and my wife didn't have to chase him around the house at 5am...

I didn't see a single deer, anywhere. Not where I was hunting, and not anywhere in the area as I was driving in or out. A guy I stopped to chat with about a half mile from my spot said he shot an 8-point, but hadn't recovered it yet. I'm thinking maybe I'll try a lure scent now. There was a lot of soft coniferous in the area, but I thought I saw a lot of oak, too, so I'm thinking maybe an acorn scent. Think it will spook them being out of season?

I sprayed all my clothes with a heavy duty tick repellent last night, and I was really in some brush today, but happy to find no ticks so far.

On my way to the check station from the LIE, I noticed a couple cars on the side of William Floyd pkwy. Is that private land they're hunting, or is it public, and you can just pull over and head in to hunt?

Have a great wekend, all.

GOT ONE:
Got an eight pointer while away for a week of archery hunting. On the last day of our hunt and the first deer I saw during that week. Seven yard shot. I will try to post picture Monday.
