Live from the field

Just wanted to try this. I am in the woods. Started with a group on the roost but they didn't want to play and wandered off. Found another group later but they did not want to come in either. Found another hunter in the woods better than me, a bobcat on my way out. lol

Going to give one other spot a try.

Well it at least sound like

Well it at least sound like your having a great day in the woods and at least heard some turkeus out there with you. You haven't reported back on your last stop yet so maybe you did a little better?

Not sure how long your season lasts out there but good luck to the end.

Well, my 2012 season ends

Well, my 2012 season ends with a dud.  I didn't see/hear anything else at my other spot.

Still a nice morning to be int he woods.  45 degrees when I got there, and almost 70 when I left.  Got to chase some birds, and saw a bobcat, some quail, etc.

Now, it's maybe a pig hunt, then only a short 3 1/2 months till the dove and deer openers.

Better than working.

sounds like a good season

I have never seen a bobcat in the woods - only crossing the road once.  That is pretty cool.  I gotta admit that seeing a bobcat would make my season a success.  Bagging a couple of birds the same day would be even better of course, but seeing a rare animal is pretty cool.

I hope to get out again on Sunday mroning.  Like you - so far I have seen birds but not been close enough to a gabbler for a shot - just hens which are off limits in the spring - at elast so far!  But I still have hope!

It's actually the third one I

It's actually the third one I have seen out here.  A couple of years ago I saw 2 in one season, 40 miles apart.  One of them ran by my stand about 25 yards away, carrying either a rabbit or squirrel.

They're neat little critters.
