Little Bro's First Goose...

We went out sunday with my brother and his girlfriends dad, and my little brother. not a whole lot of shooting but it was good to spend time with an oldtimer in the blind. We called the day early but my little bro was able to put the smack down on his first goose. It was a big one at that and it made him look like a little kid next to it Yes .

I wish we would have stayed all day because as soon as we left 25 geese flew right over our blind and there was plenty of waterfowl on the river on the drive home.

Re: Little Bro's First Goose...

Thanks

Colorado isn't really the best state to waterfowl hunt. Not a whole lot of birds and you freeze your ass off doing it. There's lots of public land here on the western slope, but the river is pretty rough in those spots. You need a dog in most places and after the first month of the season everything on this side of the mountain tends to freeze up.

We sure have fun out on the river though I can't wait untill next year during early season. Thumbs up

Congrts on your bros gander!!!! Right on!

Though, I beg to differ on the waterfowlin in CO. There are places that it can be spectacular! All along the front range and many areas out on the eastern plains are great for waterfowl! Mountainous areas are just as AA stated though, it can be brutal.

The front range though is almost always loaded with geese and this years seems to be a better than average year on the ducks front as well. From what I have been seeing, not partaking in though sad haven't been able to get out much at all myself, but plenty of folks I know are pounding them regularly!

Damn nice going guys. I guess it's just us then but we havnt killed more then 5 ducks in one hunt. I'm still pretty new to the waterfowling game I wish I could get into em like that around here. There were lots of geese and ducks working sunday I hope this weekends the same way to wrap up the 2009-10 season.

Let me know if you guys need a huntin buddy or two one day next season though Hello
