Lion Hunt

Hi folks, I’m not sure if this was posted here or not, but if not, then watch this video about an African Lion hunt. It will make the hair stand up on the back of you neck.

It’s in windows Media player format. If you have broad band it should start to play pretty quickly. If you have dialup (oh shivers) you can right click the link and chose to save it to you disk B4 viewing.

This has been around the Internet for some time now, and from my perspective it's a shame it's available.

Why? Look at the bunch of yahoo’s here. Running around in a gaggle “hunting” lion within a fenced preserve (you can see the fences in many of the shots) is not my idea of an uplifting portrayal of hunting.

These guys had no clue as to marksmanship, proper technique (not taking a clear shot, not immediately following up the first poor shot to name just two), positioning, approaching wounded game... I’ll quit but could go on.

No I won’t quit; this piques me too much, only an idiot would run up to a wounded lion. But this wasn’t one idiot; it was a bunch of idiots doing a frontal assault. No wonder they were charged.

I love their fire control, their awareness of fields of fire or their hasty shooting technique. Good thing they weren’t using serious cartridges (note the amount of recoil) or the outcome would have probably been more dropped rifles and perhaps several “hunters” perforated by their mate’s firearms. Too bad the lion didn’t win on this one, the gene pool could use a little chlorine here.

Have you ever heard of not killing the messenger, apparently not?

I was neither the maker of this video nor a participant of it.
I was merely sharing something I found interesting on the net.

In life, it is far more important to do right than to be the proponent of what is right.

Hi Hassen,

What in my post indicated I was directing anything toward you?

I've just reread my post and can only find remarks that were directed toward the people involved in the "hunt".

I'm sorry if you felt that my remarks about those shown in the video clip were also directed toward you. That was not my intention.

Tank-

I agree with everything you say about that hunt but maybe the worst part is it looks like some kind of promotional/advertising video!

Also the fact that they were high-fiving like it was all just part of the excitement of lion "hunting"(I hate to even use that word!)
