Leupold scope

Looking at getting a Leupold scope… thinking about a VX-I in a 3-9x40 or a VX-II. Would it be any advantage spending an extra 100 dollars to get the VX-II? Any other suggestion are welcomed. I will be stand hunting Moose and Deer mostly.

Both are great scopes but I feel the extra options on the VX-II are worth the difference in price. You get the click adjustment knobs and multi-coated optics just to name a couple. I have a Vari-x II (like the new VX-I), VX-II, and Vari-X III scopes on my rifles and the VX-II is as nice a scope as any of them.

can't go wrong with a leupold. if you can, i'd also suggest the 1 piece mount.

The leupold is the way to go, this is one of those case's where you definitly get what you pay for the extra money will be well spent.

the only thing i've ever owned with the Bushnell name on it was the 4200 elite series they are ok. i have Leupolds on everything i own even the stevens in 270 i own. all my weatherby's have 4.5-14x leupold's with 30mm tubes and i dont regret ever paying more for quality. if you shop by price then the Bushnell is great but if you shop by quality then the Leupold is the way to go. i even have a Swarovski on 2 of my rifles.

My understanding is B & L, who made excellent quality scopes for the scientific community, medical community and hunting community was informed by the medical community that they would stop buying their scopes unless they quit making them for the hunting community. Therefore, they sold their rifle scope patents to Bushnell. The 3200 and 4200 series Bushnell scopes are the B & L's and are of an excellent quality.
My personal choices are the Bushnell 3200, 4200. The Leupold VXII and the Burris Fullfield. Depends on which one fits the rifle the best. They are all great scope.

I wasn't implying you need to be a millionair, what i was saying was i would rather spend alittle less on my rifle and use the extra cash on my scope. i should state that i'm fortunate enough that my fiance works for cabela's and we get a 40% discount on everything we buy, so it makes it a little easier to afford. Yes , i didn't mean to offend anyone. for the money you cant beat the 3200 or the 4200 series. Yes

New Question... I have people talking me into getting the 50mm over the 40mm. Is there much of a difference? Oh and Im mainly going for a Leupold because it look awesome... and i want something to spice up my tikka.
