Leupold or Burris?!?

Please help me - My hunting trip is in 12 days and my Tasco just broke!

I've narrowed down my search to the following two options:

1. Burris Fullfield II, 3x9x40, 3.1 to 3.8 eye relief... $199 (Cabelas.com)

2. Leupold VX II, 3x9x40, 3.7 to 4.7 eye relief... $269 (Cabelas.com)

Please look at Burris website:
http://burrisoptics.com/fullfield.html
It gives a comparison of Burris Vs Leupold. Of course it's bias... But Burris says their scope has 95% light vs 87% of Leupold. I want someone who's had experience with either of these two models. Has anybody had problems? Which do you prefer?

Thanks a million for your quick reply!

Jesse.

Leupold or Burris?!?

Well I have used every scope u could ever get your hands on and I will always go with the burris for 3 reasons.

Reason 1
The image quality is great even at 400 yards.

Reason 2
The cost.
Reason 3
They are super strong.

I have one on my 243 and i put one on my friends 7MM Rem Mag and its almost like im looking through the Zeiss on the Weatherby we use. Now im gettin ready to put one on my 22Lr

Thanks Zippy!

Everyone goes on and on and on about leupold and their service. They're like: "No matter what you do to your scope, Leupold will cover it" What do you think about Burris' service? Have you ever had any problems, or needed any repairs?

Thanks again!

Leupold or Burris?!?

Well I use the fullfield 2 and i have never had a problem with it ever.

Leupold i have had problems with though. I had got a bad set of rings that had been made wrong and yes leupold mailed me a new set of rings and base for free and they where at my door in 4 days. So yes leupold is great with there customer service and I love them and have used them for years but if they see that the scope had been abused to the point that it broke I dont think they or any other company will fix it for free.

I have always relied on Leupold and trust their quality to the fullest. I have the VX-II 3-9x40 scope and love it. I also have a vari-x III(which I love as well) but the VX-II is similar in quality. Leupold has a no questions asked policy on scope replacement. I have had zero problems so have not dealt with cust. service but a buddy of mine had his gun stolen later recovered by the police. It was smashed beyond repair. Winchester didn't give him a new gun but Leupold replaced the scope free of charge(he paid shipping one way because we don't have a Leupold dealer in my part of the country). Hard to beat that in my books and well worth the extra you pay.

Thanks!

There's a Leupold VX III that's a few years old on ebay... right now it's at $236. What do you think?
