OK - here's a pic of my son holding those antlers. I'll try and get a measurement. Is it just me or do they look decent size? I'm use to handling whitetail antlers.

Redrider, That is a dandy buck. Rare! Is that a Kansas buck?

I'd download both typical & non-typical score sheets and score it both ways. It'll score a lot higher as a NT, but maybe not that much more. I'm looking forward to what you come up with.

Gross Score: 216 2/8
Non Typical: 211 1/8
Typical: 165 3/8

I couldn't tell you anything about this buck other than it appears to be very old. Dad bought it at an auction several years ago, probably wouldn't remember even where ( somewhere in KS). Nothing written on the old oak cupboard door it was screwed to. My Dad wanted me to mount it like my deer antlers and try to resale it, but I may decide to keep I don't think he paid much for them, he just thought I would like to see them.

He's not mine (can't get a tag as he's in the wrong province), but he's still pretty nice!

Redrider, Great Buck! I was thinking 200ish NT but was shocked to see the typical at 165, I didn't see that much deduction but it's hard to tell without seeing different angles. As you already know, those bucks are rare. Western Kansas has bucks like that, you should start applying for that area...

Cowboy Al, Nice Muley you have there. Can you draw for a tag in that Province? Alberta sure has some Monster Muleys and Whitetails.

I would love to go chase a mulie like that in Western KS, but I wouldn't be able to hunt the whitetail in our area. I would have to have a great place to go that I knew something about and know I had a great chance at coming across one of these before I gave up my whitetails. What to do ,)

Cabela's sometimes has a time when you can bring in antlers to be measured. Maybe I'll take it in to have it done correctly.

Redrider, OK I've figured out a way for you.........hunt WT's in KS and then come to CO, MT or WY and hunt Muleys...... Let me know when and I'll help you out with the draw and finding a area. You should plan this two or three years a head, so you can get the bonus/Preference Points needed to draw a good area.

That would be awesome It will be quite awhile before I could manage to do something like that, should I go ahead and start building up points and how do I go about doing that? What kind of cost do Muley hunts amount to?

Tags run around $300 for non-residents. Points cost $20-40 depending on the state.
