I know here in Nova scotia some people can get special permits that allows you to hunt from a vechicle. Now i am not sure of all the details but maybe there are programs like that where you are from. Hope fully you can get out, good luck.

oh yea, been there and done that. all you need is a friend to drop you off and a lawn chair.

I admire your spirit, but if I was your dad, I'd break you're other leg if tried to go out and hunt with a plate and screws in your leg.
Seriously, talk to your doctor first. He may say you'll be fine to got out and sit in a chair, but for God's sake, don't try to climb up into a stand. If you fell, you could break that plate loose and sever a major artery. The last thing you want to do is get injured again.
Again, I admire your spirit, but be smart about it.

I wrecked my dirt bike 3 years ago. Broke my lower leg and blew my knee completely out. Major surgurey. I would walk in on crutches and have my friends carry my gun.. I ended up shooting a 130 class four point whitetail.

Landed on a saddle horn and seperated my pelvis years ago. Steel plate still holds me together. I hunted on crutches that year and filled my tags. Couple years later, just befor deer season, they took cartiledge out of my left knee and walking was a tuff thing. That time I had a $1000 brace and hunted anyway, filled tags again. Three years ago durning hunting season, I tore my roto-cuff in my left shoulder. That stopped me! But as I think back, I was dating a short girl and probally would have been alright had a placed a sand bag on her head! Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do!

Just to make things clear when I say four point I mean four on the left and four on the right. I was always confused when some guys would say eight and ten pointers.
