It is here in Colorado. He has turned his elk youth tag into a late season tag (along with his additional late tag). Anywhere there is a late season going on he can hunt that unit with his transfered tag (if it is a private land only area you must hunt private land). Right now my youngest son is doing the same thing and hunting unit 40 here on the West Slope.
Thanks everyone for all the great comments, I havent got that other pic of my elk up yet but I will be getting it soon . Elkkill is right on, I was hunting the youth late season where you can get your tags converted if unfilled to hunt throughtout december in most units.
If you want to properly preserve velvet antlers, you will have to inject & brush them with formaldehyde or some of the new less toxic chemicals (4 in 1 solution works great as does Knobloch's antler in velvet tan) as its easier to use however, both will work.
