How many of you out there enjoy the late season bow hunting when the weather can be brutal. I live here in Ohio and I think I love it more and more every year. If you are in the right spots you can really see alot of deer. Right now my daughter and I are after a particular buck we call Brutus. I hane seen him 3 times on my trail camera in the past week. Unfortunately none of those three times have been in daylight hours. We have seen a ton of other deer and two or three other decent bucks, but she has her mind set on Brutus. I really want a cold snap where it gets down into the single digits and stays there for a number of days. This may solve our problem. I just hope it comes before he sheds his antlers. I am also looking to take out another doe or two but I am waiting until she gets Brutus or he drops his antlers. The one thing I don't like about the late seasone here in Ohio is they have split up the shotgun season. I usually wait about 1 week to go out after gun season with the bow again. This year we were seeing between 36 and 54 deer every night. Then the second shotgun season kicked in which is only 2 days but it messed everything up again. This time I waited 2 days to go back out and the only deer we seen were about 1/4 of a mile away in a huge open agricultutal field. it was like this for 3 straight days. I havent been back out since Thursday the 23rd. I plan on going back out on the 28th. Hopefully by then things will have returned to normal. I got alot of night time shots on my camera but only 3 or 4 daytime shots and they all looked like fawns. I will let you all know how things go.
