Late season archery hunting

Hello I am a 21 year old from Johnstown, PA. This past monday for the first day of rifle i recently got my first deer, a large doe. I got into the sport 4 years ago and I have not had luck until now. I went through the entire archery season seeing different small bucks without any harvest. I definitely want to go out for the late archery season. Does anyone have any tips for me to consider while going out for the late season, i.e. where to hunt, what to look for, and such. My dream for the past year since I got my bow is to bag a monster buck.

Find the food

My advice is to look for the food sorces. once the rut ends all the bucks will be focusing on getting fat again for the winter. Find the corn fields or apples, or if you had a bumper crop of acorns look for them. If you find the feed you should find the deer. Good luck

Late season archery hunting

ill be upstate this weekend for the last couple of days up at my uncles cabin archey and muzzle loader i have to redeem myself with my bow after making a bad shoot on a big doe and never finding it hopefully the hunting gods look down on me and help me out lol. ill be out in afton ny Chenago county

Hunting Tip: Trail Camera Placement

When placing a trail camera don't just look for a well used trail. What you want to do is look for a freshly used trail off by itself that goes from a north facing ridge, thick forest, brushy knob or some other similar bedding area to a food source. Don't forget water sources. Especially in the summer months the deer need water so look for a good trail going down too a creek surrounded by thick cover and place the camera 100 yards up from the water source.
