Last day for PP in Wyoming

Today is the last day to purchase a preference point in Wyoming for any of their hunted big game species.  I almost forgot; thought I'd put a quick reminder so no one else realized tomorrow that the dealine was today.

Here's the website address:  http://gf.state.wy.us/

Have a good one!

Interestign to me that you

Interestign to me that you can buy preference points so long after the drawing are done in Wyoming, and the seasons have started.  I don't really see what the point is, or benefit is to delaying the deadline for so long.

You either want a point, or you don't.  I would think it would be an easy decision.

Ya, Wyoming's funny that way

Wyoming is certainly different from Colorado, that's for sure.  Their draws are different too with a preference point draw, random draw, and "Special" preference point draw that costs about twice the normal tag to enter.  They also have doe/fawn, cow/calf draws that are independent of the preference points.  Still not sure I completely understand their system, but we've made it work for us so far.

In the end, it's probably all about revenue and making sure us hunters have lots of time and multiple ways to part with our money trying to get tags.

BTW, you can only buy a point if you didn't buy one during the draw--or didn't put in for a tag in the draw.  You still only get one point per year per species.

That sure sounds like a

That sure sounds like a screwy system. I was a little confused when i first started reading this thread. I guess its pretty cool you can buy a point after the draws and stuff. Out here in my home state you can put in for a point or if you dont draw your first choice tag you get a point and thats it, there is no buying a point later. it does sound like another way for the Fish and wildlide dept to get there money from us the hunters. Maybe one of these days I'll sit down and try to make sence of WY draw system. First I need to read up on CO as I want to hunt there in a couple years so i need to build a few points.
