Lady Smith for the Lady: S&W M65LS

Just bought a NIB Lady Smith 357 / 38 for my sweetheart and (since this is my first Smith & Wesson) thought I'd inquire with you folks as to what you thought of this particular model?

The M60 Lady Smith has a glass beaded stainless finish, Combat Dymondwood rose grips, and a smooth target trigger / semi-target hammer. Barrel length is 3" and weight is 26.5-oz's.

CDNN has a sale on this 5-shot revolver that retails for $621 (according to S&W) and I felt fortunate to buy 1 of the 7 they have for only $399.

P.S. Also purchased a NIB compact 45 auto (EAA Witness) for CCW @ $259.

I like S&W revolvers, they're classy. The lady smith is a great little conceal/carry handgun. However I wouldn't count on it being too accurate for target practice. I like the longer barreled S&W's for target shooting.

You'll have to let us know how it shoots.

When are you giving it to your wife?

Still considering when to pull the trigger on the surprise; latest will be Christmas; earliest this week.

Us men don't put as much thought into things as we should when dealing with women, hence, the reason for consideration on the timing / method of delivery. Trying to add a little fire-power to the surprise (if you know what I mean), even though I normally would not make significant purchases without discussing it with her.

Steve

P.S. We use the Security Six for a lot of target work and the Lady Smith was purchased more for CCW or short-range home defense.

For target shooting I like 357 mag S&W revolvers with a 6" barrel, rubber grips & adjustable sights.

I've shot older & newer models that friends and family members own. Can't tell you the exact model numbers.

Do you know anything about how a Colt King Cobra 357 revolver shoots? I'm contemplating purchasing a used one, but don't know much about this particular Colt revolver. I believe its no longer being made.

Shot a Cobra 25 years ago, but no Colt products since - except their M-16's.

Here's a pic of a nice S&W M686 Combat Magnum that retails for around $750

Would have to pay $200 more (over the Lady Smith) to get that one for hunting and plinking in the field. Wife gets the Lady Smith for CCW; S&W M686 is a much different revolver that's enjoyable to shoot at anytime; M65LS Lady Smith has a plenty of recoil for a women at 26.5-oz's, even with low powered 148-gr. wadcutters or 135-gr. +P short barrel Gold Dots for self defense.
