Kentucky

Kentucky doesn't jump out at me as the place to hunt elk, but I put in for a tag there a couple of years ago.  Since then I received a lot of email, newsletter, etc.  It looks like they are working hard to develop a good elk population and to be hunter friendly.

Anyone hunt there yet?

I have not hunted there, but I have actually followed it quite a bit.  It's a great success story for the reintroduction of elk.  Lots of good bulls come out of there, and great success rates.  Very, very hard to draw a tag though.  Lots of competition.

Yes, you're right, it is a success.  Saw a show on a similar program in PA.  Looks like theirs is going to be successful too.

I might put in next year....hard tag to draw, but it is like buying a lottery ticket I guess.
