Just wanted to let everyone know that the last two days I've been busy with guiding hunters and we have saw 29 bucks the first day and the second day 32. We have harvested 3 bucks the one is a real nice 10 point. The bucks are chasing the does real hard. The taxidermist shop has been very busy ever since Saturday. Finally the chase is on. I would suggest to sit in any timber and wait for a hot doe to come threw. One of my guys was sitting ing a 5 acre patch of wood behind some standing grass and saw one doe come threw with 5 bucks on her heels. I will post pictures when it slows up.

Keep your fingers crossed for me on Wed. and I promise to post a picture of the buck if I happen to be lucky enough to get one. Even if it is not a big one I will post it. My criteria is to shoot a buck bigger than the one I took last year. So, if you've seen the pic, you know the bar isn't set too high.

Just had a hunter check in and said 3 bucks were running a doe to death at 11am. They were all in the 150 class but they wouldn't stop for nothing. Ran right under his stand going 90 mph.

As I was finishing my run, my neighbor caught me and asked me to help recover his deer. He hunts only a minute or two from our development in a small wooded area just outside the city limits. Construction was in full swing when he got into the stand at 4pm. As soon as he got into the stand a 8 pt buck came by and he shot it.
He said he was in the stand in the morning and saw 14 bucks under his stand. They are out during the day so I can't wait to get out tomorrow.

CVC, Good luck wend. And yes they were just moving to fast to shoot and a grunt or whistle didn't stop them. Also last night one hunters seen 13 bucks in two hours chasing one doe(poor doe). Seems like the evenings from 2 to dust are the best. My son and I was hunting on the ground last night and filmed a 6 pointer coming in at 7 foot away but was to small.
Good Luck to every one!!

One of our hunters harvested a nice 9 pointer this morning. The bucks don't have the big swollen up necks yet, also the tarsal glands are just starting to get a little black. So looks like the fuul rut will be middle of next week but the bucks are chasing does trying to hurry them up. We been a little busy in the Taxidermy shop and posting updates on our website so things are getting started around Kansas.

I went out this morning and didn't see anything. I plan to go out at 2 pm again and sit until dark. It was warm this morning, got a little cooler around 9 am but nothing happened. Oh well, that is hunting.
