Well the elections were last night and there will be some major changes in Topeka, especially for the House Ag committee where many wildlife/hunting bills are first debated. We'll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
It will be interesting to see the changes all over the country. There were alot of places that were traditionally red that went blue recently. However, looks like alot of them went back to red last night. I know I was a happy camper.....
It remains to be seen what will happen with this election in terms of wildlife management, but I think the biggest change in recent years occurred a couple of years back in NJ where they had a new governor come in and reverse the past administrations ban on black bear hunting. Made no sense to ban them, but they did until the new governor came in and appointed a new person in charge of wildlife management.
Regardless of one's politics, if they support hunting they need to vote because it affects us hunters.
Here is the scenario... you sit in your 2 piece climbing stand and your foot inadvertently bumps the lower section while there is no weight on it - and it slides down the tree, out of reach!
OK, you are safe - you have a string tied from the upper section that you are sitting on and the foot portion that slid 4-5 feet down the tree. All you have to do it pull the other section up, reposition it and you are back in business, correct?
Have you ever tested this theory?
I have -...
