Well I got to sit up in a tree stand for the first time today. Wheeewwww was it hot out there. I soaked through two shirts climbing up and down that tree then carrying the climber out of the woods up a hill. Got a really sweet spot on a trail with great huge rubs 25-35 yards away. It is also kinda nice cause there is a barb-wire fence in the way so they can't be sprinting through, they gotta stop for me neener! neener!

Going out tomorrow night for my first time ever. I got a doe tag for archery since I would rather save my buck tag for the rifle season since this is my first year shooting my bow and I probably won't be able to pull it back when I have one walk by me.

Good Luck Thumbs up

I went out again last Sun. night and saw a nice buck at the end of the field I was on right next to one of my other stands Brick Wall,)
Went out again Mon. night on the property in unit 19 and had a doe and her two young ones come by. I got her stopped, but in a tight shooting lane and I grazed a branch and missed. Then she came back out at 40 yds and tried again, but wouldn't you know right at the last second she ducked the arrow. Oh well, that's huntin' eye roll

I have seen tons of deer this year. Completely opposite of last year! I shot a nice buck last week, but was unable to find him Brick Wall,) First deer I haven't been able to find. The arrow hit with that classic thump, the arrow had blood and fat on it, but we could not find a blood trail. It was last minutes of the hunt and about 8 deer in the field. When I shot they all scattered and it was very hard to see where he dashed into the woods. Hopefully I'll get another chance.

Sorry to hear that Red, you'll definately get more opportunities now that the cold front has finally come through. I'm excited cuz it feels like hunting season now.

probably a little low, most of the fat will come from the briscut.

i'm a pretty experienced tracker, if you want the help, give me a call. maybe we can recover at something. 330-715-5651

Sure wish I had that number that night Yes I'm going to put you on my cell phone book in case it happens again Thumbs up He was angled pretty sharply quartered to me so I was thinking probably a little far forward and hit the briscut like you said and maybe hit shoulder and ricochet out because the arrow was laying behind where he was when I shot.

Hesseu - This weather really makes it feel right Yes You going to try that rubber band call this year?

You know, I haven't busted it out yet (might have to here soon); i did some grunting last night and to my amazement, the does came a runnin in. I took a doe earlier in the year, now the patience kicks in tryin to find that good buck.

hey red, were you using slick tricks?

i had a similar problem this year on a doe. i was using montecs though. i swore g5 wasn't going to get any more of my money after some incidents with the tekkan,

i use thunderheads now but all my good gear got lost when i flew back from alaska and i had to wait a few days for it. but i had to hunt, so the doe paid the price.

that's why it's hunting right?
