Just watching some Sunday morning hunting shows. There was one where they were on a hunt that they could shoot mule deer or whitetail. I know alot of you guys are from the middle states where you can shoot either.
If you had your choice, and a 160 class whitetail and a 180 class mulie step out together, which one you taking?
I would probably take the mulie, since i have not shot a mulie buck yet. But, something to be said for a B&C whitetail......

I'd shoot nthe one with the biggest hind quarters, I got three carnivores to feed.
Living in Nevada, only mule deer are on the menu. While hunting in north central Idaho for several years, I could only get shots at a couple of whitetail does in the dense forests I was hunting in. If both those bucks were standing around waiting to be shot, I'd line up on the whitetail without a second thought. As I've been lucky enough to have taken a few bulls, if a nice 5 point bull elk was standing next to that same whitetail I'd still shoot the deer. Of course if the bull was a big nasty 6+ point herd bull I'm pretty sure the deer would be safe...I'm not completely nuts!
Depends on the gun I was packing along that day.
If I had the Rem 760(pump) in 257 Rbts, I would shoot them both! Very fast with no recoil,ol Bob can be a real machine gun.
The 7mm rem mag I would wait until they were lined up perfect and take them both with one shot!!!!
Any of the rest of my shotin irons I would have to opt for the Mulie since I have never taken (nor gone after) one.
i would take the mulie since I've not taken one before. The size of the antlers doesn't matter that much to me. now if it was a 200 class whitetail, then my answer would be different.
