opening season of deer:

Catch limits

It is permissible for a person to take one deer per year for all areas except Area 20. However, a person who first bags an antlerless deer under a license to hunt antlerless deer first slaughter (draw) in the area indicated on the permit may, thereafter, fell a second white-tailed deer under a regular license by the rules in force in the period in which it hunts.

A license to hunt antlerless deer first cutting can be used if the holder also holds a regular license to hunt deer valid.

In the 20 (Anticosti Island), from 1 to Aug. 31, a hunter may bag two deer with antlers per stay and, from September 1 to December 24, a hunter may, with permits for this area, take four deer per stay, with no more than two deer with antlers. Special provisions are in force in wildlife sanctuaries and outfitter establishments with exclusive rights (see Sharing of hunting licenses for antlerless deer and hunt deer in a group.

In this publication, new elements are highlighted by the highlighting of the text in gray.

Wow, that's alot of

Wow, that's alot of information...  Thanks!

Seriously though, I have grown up hunting in most cases, less than 2 miles from Quebec.  I have LOTS of friends that used to wander across the border for some hunting, and it was, and in some cases, still is a well kept secret for hunting of all kinds.

My 2 biggest trips I would love to take there are to Anticosti and for Caribou.  Many people from my area take yearly trips up to Anticosti for the deer hutning.  If you hit it at the right time, they say there is nothing like it.  The migraton that takes place from the interior of the island out to the sea is awesome.  And, to see deer actually eat seaweed would be neat.

Thanks again for the information.  I am sure someone will find it useful!

yes...

yes anticosti i real good place to hunt the deer. I think it's the most good place to hunt this kind of animal. my uncle and my father go hunt there sometime and they say to me it will be a very good trip and the success to kill a deer are very big. I never go to this place but in a few time i will go try this trip. another place it's good  but's i for the moose it's in gaspésie. the success rate are aproximatly at 87%. You have a lot of zec to hunt there.  I hope that a lot of people will be interest to hunt in qc because it's very exceptionnal.

for all:: sorry for my english, i'm a begginner and i try to do my best Big smile

pas probleme

ton anglais c'est plus mieux que ma francais.

I'd love to hunt QC, the problem for we anglophones is the rules, the english translation of the Quebec hunting regs is terrible and confusing.
