Insects on ducks.

Can anyone tell me whats kinds of insects are found on mallards usually I was cleaning a couple the other day and they were infested with little whiteclear bugs and black ones.

Insects on ducks.

the black ones were probably duck lice and i'm not sure about the white ones.
we get duck lice on them early in the season but they disapear quickly.actualy last year second day i found a bird that i'd lost with leaches on it.

Insects on ducks.

Do they look almost like an earwig just pure black and smaller. I think the smaller ones were biting lice. Anyway either way it wasnt nice to see.

Insects on ducks.

I have found those on alot of the ducks that I have shot out here. My friends all say that there is no problem, as they don't dig into the meat at all, and just stay in the feathers.....
