Importing Help Needed ASAP

I am looking for a reputable firearm importer in the USA
I need to import two rifles from South Africa because I am afraid that the local government is going to destroy them.

So, If anyone can give me any help I would really appreciate it

IF the importer is in Florida, it is even better.

Thanks

Canada destroyed all the guns turned in from people that didn't or couldn't register their firearms so it does happen.

Try customs..

I'm not american, but i would say try Customs and check with the BATF to see if your firearms are legal to import. Why would you need an importer if they are your firearms? The above two govt agents should be able handle it. Up here in canada it would be customs to "land" the firearm then the canadian firearms center ( stupid waste of money and time that thing is.. Evil! ) to register it.

They will destroy them because my uncle who is holding them, has to many rifle already registered on his name.

I have tried customs and they refer me to the ATF, who told me get a gun importer to bring them into the US

Thanks for the info.

I think if you talk to a local gun dealer he should be able to help if not direct you to where you can get help and all the proper paperwork.

There are several online gun auctions, each list people who hold an FFL and the contact information for them.
Two sites that I have used are http://www.Gunbroker.com and http://www.Gunsamerica.com they list FFL holders by zip code.
I have bought several firearms from these sites and have had them delivered to a FFL holder about 2 blocks from my house and never had a problem. I am sure one of them will point you in the right direction if you ask, they have all been very helpful to me. Good luck

Assumptions.

1.) All guns imported are non-NFA.

2.) All guns are for a sporting use.

3.) This will be a one time import of personal firearms not for resale. I.E. your not planning on making a business out of this.

4.) You are a U.S. citizen or a registered permenant alien or are otherwise on good terms with the INS.

5.) No guns are under any other import restrictions.

If you meet these requirements, I think (**), any FFL can import under an ATF form 6.

http://www.atf.gov/firearms/022002form6updates.htm

Find a reputable gun dealer in your area that has or is willing to take on a form 6 transfer.

** This is the best of my knowledge, I could be wrong on one or all points, but I think they are essentially correct.

I was looking at the Can. firearm website and came across some interesting if not disturbing stats:

Quote:
987,700 firearms have been exported, destroyed, deactivated or have been removed from the Canadian Firearms Information System since December 1, 1998. This helps to ensure a complete and current record of firearms within Canada.

This is straight off the site:
