Good Luck Hunter25 as well I wish for your Dad. Have a great and successfull hunt! And generate yet another great story for all of us to read and for you to relish for life! I eagerly await the 13th for when I leave for 1st rifle!
Good luck Wade, I hope you and your Dad bag a 400 incher. I'm very jelious as I havent bagged an elk for a few years as i build points and hunting OTC archery. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures and reading the story of your sucessfull hunt. I think there are a few of us here living through you and your dad right about now. I'm sure te scouting you did during the summer will pay off it usally does, those who work hard in the off season usally bag the big bucks/bulls. Good luck, be safe and look forward to your return.
Here is the scenario... you sit in your 2 piece climbing stand and your foot inadvertently bumps the lower section while there is no weight on it - and it slides down the tree, out of reach!
OK, you are safe - you have a string tied from the upper section that you are sitting on and the foot portion that slid 4-5 feet down the tree. All you have to do it pull the other section up, reposition it and you are back in business, correct?
Have you ever tested this theory?
