I can't offer you any

I can't offer you any information on a pig hunt, but I did want to say welcome to the site, and thank you for your service.  Make sure to keep your head down and be safe.  Hopefully someone will hook you up with a hunt when you come back.  You guys deserve some extra "perks" of the job!

I, too, would like to thank

I, too, would like to thank you for your service. Godspeed.

As far as hunting in east Tenn, I know there is one place, if not more, near Crossville, Tn. There are a couple in western NC. The names escape right now. I'll try to post some names for you by Monday.

It has been years (see my story on hog hunting in the story section) but I hunted at Caryonah Hunting Lodge in Crossville TN.  You might look at their website and see if it fits your need and budget.  It has been decades but it was good when I went.

Hog Hunts

Here's a place that some friends have hunted at and really enjoyed it. You can hunt pretty much any way you'd like, with or without a guide; with or without dogs, etc. My Buddy's boar was about 250# charged him twice and took 4 hardcast 310gr .44 slugs before he gave it up.

Thanks for your service to our Nation!!

just in case

I know you said east Tn, but I live in Tn myself (retired military) and I travel to Georgia to a great place to hunt big wild hogs. The hunts are on leased land and my Buddies and I have had some great success there. I'll include the link to the place, so you can check it out.

This is the hog I took on my first trip.

I hate to correct anyone on this site, but you made a mistake. We were talking about boar hunting and you accidently posted a picture of a bear.  Big smile

That is a super hog....all I can say is wow!!!!  Not only is it huge, but it is a darn good looking specimen.  Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

Thanks

My only comment is that I can promise you that I was as surprised as you at seeing that "thing". It took me 5 good hits with a .44 mag carbine shooting 270grSP loads to make him quiet enough to ride home in our truck. The story of the drag and load into that truck would make you send your beer out your nose.. I promise!

Thanks for your replies

All of your replies are appreciated. I have looked into the above mentioned outfits.  Funny thing you mentioned the .44 mag, I cam home on R&R leave in October and my wife bought me one for an ealry christhmas present.  I love it.  I do want to take it Hog and Bear hunting.  We will see how it goes.  Take care and thanks again for you support.
