Illinois Crops

All of the corn and beans have been cut in southern Illinois

The combines here leave a lot of corn in the fields

These deer have so much up here it is crazy!

If you are planning a Midwest trip, I think this dry weather will just about assure that the crops are also harvested in your area

I did not see a single standing corn field on the way up here

Good luck!

Last year it was so wet here

Last year it was so wet here that some corn was still in the field until the end of December.  It was crazy and the fields held the deer making hunting hard.  Totally different this year.  Good luck.

That's good to hear.  They

That's good to hear.  They should be hitting the fields hard if you guys get a little weather pushing through there.  Hopefully you can get a 25 degree night, with an inch or 2 of snow.  That'd help.....

The corn has been cut here

The corn has been cut here for a while but the beans are still standing.

I wish they would cut the beans so the deer would alter their travel patterns and start hit the green field. Hopefully, by the end of the month, the beans will be gone.

Everything is cut up here but

Everything is cut up here but there is a lot of corn left in the fields and the deer are really keying on these fields

As hard as it has been to see deer in the woods - you see them in the corn fields in droves after dark.

I am going to try to formulate a new plan this afternoon to exploit that.

I am not sure what is going on back in SC crop wise...

In late October all of the corn was cut, the peanuts had been dug and they were just starting to cut the beans.

Some of the fields there (here too) had been drilled in winter wheat so that is good for the deer - and the hunters if you can catch them coming to the fields before dark.

Hopefully, they will cut your beans soon!
