If you won.....

If you won a dangerous game hunt in Africa and had your choice of the big six to hunt, which one would you pick?

I am with you.  I really like

I am with you.  I really like the leopard....beautiful and dangerous, but I would hunt the buffalo for the danger and the way you hunt them.  I'd rather stalk an animal than sit over bait. I know they hunt leopards with dogs too in some countries, but I'd still rather go after the buffalo.

The lion is a unique animal, but for some reason it doesn't appeal to me to hunt.

since we are into fantasy,

since we are into fantasy, then i would want to win a 21 day full bag hunt in tanzania, which would include elephant, lion, leopard, 3 cape buffalo, and everything else on the menu, hopefully croc and hippo also.  i have the .458 lott all tuned up and i would take the .300 magnum also for the plains game portion.  a dream come true.  i might as well dream of winning the lottery and being able to spend 2 months a year in africa.  then i could afford a lord derby eland and bongo hunt up in cameroon or CAR.Thumbs up

No, no, no.....15 yard

No, no, no.....15 yard penalty.....you can only pick one....it is my fantasy Dancing

I forgot about crocs, but they would definitely be cool to hunt in Africa.  I still stick with my pick of a buff though.

I know you've hunted lion, but have you hunted other dangerous game too?

So, since you messed up the game (haha) what would be the price tag on the hunt you described?

I'll take the 15 yd penalty

I'll take the 15 yd penalty and agree with kevin davis on a 21 day full bag hunt in Tanzania.

Ruling that out, it would be about a toss up between elephant and an old black maned lion with the final decision going to the lion.Dancing

definitely lion

I'd pick lion because there is no way that I could afford a lion hunt otherwise.  I might just scrape up enough for a cape buffalo hunt one of these days but a big african lion on his home turf is the sport of kings from ages past.  There is just something prehistoric about standing your ground against a big cat..........

That's about the only hunt I want that I will probably never have.

But just thinking about it tempts me to sell off the whole gun collection and book a hunt to GO!

if you won

CVC, if I won a hunt for one of the dangerous 8 I think it would be a big bull elephant, in tight cover!  I already have cape buffalo, and many of the plains game under my belt, but a nice pair of massive ivory tusks on either side of my fireplace.

The big lion is my next wish, but will never be able to afford one, the Leopard is affordable but hard to come by on one safari unless you are very lucky.  The Rhino is no more because the black Rhino is gone from the sceen as far as sport hunting is concerned, and the White Rhino is too docile, and pined in! I have Hippos, both in water and on dry land, fun, and BIG, Croc is another that is a wish, but if I had to pick just one, for me it would be a big Ele bull. However I want them all, and it is hard to accept being a poor man on a fixed retirement budgit!
