We have been turkey hunting several times this year and have seen/heard nothing since opening day....also several hunters reporting the same story. Have tried many places evening, morning and day time. The turkeys are winning.
Probably a little late for this info but I had a great time tagging along a few Sunday mornings late season in the Clearwater region. We worked toms both mornings , saw ample sign, but got beaten by old tommy in the end. None the less plenty of toms in that area.
Hunting is not usually a pursuit where instant gratification abounds. It takes a lot of time, practice, resources and patience to be a successful hunter. So when someone decides that an area they hunted only once without taking an animal is worthless and devoid of game, I don't quite understand it. These people usually jump from game management unit to game management unit; trying a new one every year.
Now don't get me wrong, there are people that just enjoy scouting and hunting...
