Jtapia, yeah just an example of how even in jest people still can take it the wrong way.

Supersider, I doubt Heath was looking for meat too. Personally I would be more lenient on a poacher that was hard up and trying to feed the family. I'd also be harded on a guy that poaches and wastes meat (cuts the horns off and leaves the carcass to rot).

From what I've read and what MisMary has said, it appears to be impossible to tell Heath's motive....

Here is a new poaching case in Elmore County Idaho.

Looks like this guy got nailed pretty good for shooting a buck with a firearm during an archery hunt.

Now thats a sentence more atuned to the crime except for the 55 suspended days of the 60 day sentence, and that was a plea bargin.

I love the part where he was required to repay the reward money.

Now, atleast, there'll be something to compare this thread subject's sentence to.
