It's a start, or at least an attempt to stem the tide. Good first step Thumbs up

Hopefully this season will stick and some liberal judge doesn't put a stop to it. Kill em while you can fellas. Please post your photos, so we can see them.

Wife just picked up tags for us both. Going to be interesting to see if more than the 70,000 estimated will be sold.

Now let's get ready to fill'em

Wolf hunting tactics

Having lived and hunted in Alaska for 12 years, my experience is that wolves are typically a target of opportunity. Not many people go hunting specifically for wolves. You certainly don't hunt wolves with dogs, at least not for long (you'll go through dogs pretty quickly). Baiting is probably not very effective either, and I'm not sure if it's legal. Just get a tag and keep your eyes open for wolves while hunting elk or deer. This first year might be easier, but the wolves will catch on quick that they're fair game. Hopefully we'll reach the quota before the end of the season.

Wolf trapping

A trapping season is what we really need for wolves, but that would REALLY inflame the anis, wouldn't it. I hope we can meet the quota of 220 wolves, it won't be easy.

So what strategies/methods are most hunters going after wolves specifically (not when going after deer/elk) going to use?
