Okay ... here's a pic from Idaho. Shakedown trip over Fourth of July. Took a couple of my children and one of their friends ... couple miles in over the `goat route'. Too snarly (too much snow in some critical chutes), so we took the long way out ... ten miles by trail.

Now that's the life Wish we lived closer to the Mts. When our kids grow up I hope to travel out your way for the fun!

Great photo. 10 miles by trail. That's a good hike, you have taught them well.

Hiker, you may like this `rules' list I have come up with.
This trip was bit different ... I was in a sense learning what rules could be relaxed, and which ones must need be still strictly adhered to. In other words, some safety issues are musts. But some of the other stuff - maybe more my preference so I can see more wildlife, see more country, or catch more fish ... I found that I could relax - so as to let kids be kids - even in the outdoors. Also, cut some kids some slack - maybe go the extra mile for them, not chide them or ride them too hard, etc.

Can I borrow some of your rules?

What do you mean?

"Rules (of the Outdoors) ... and Things to Think About."
Some of these for family and hunting friends?

Yes, absolutely! ... Borrow at will. Go for it! Some day I will write a book - and include them in it.
