I am new on here so bear with me. I have hunted all over the midwest my whole life. I will be making my fourth trip to the great state of Idaho in Oct. I have hunted in the Selway and around Grangville taking a few whitetails. I will be in unit 21A with two very good friends this year. Both my friends are wanting to shoot Mule Deer and me, well it really does not matter because I'll be in gods country just enjoying life. Both my buddies have never been out west before, so it will be fun seeing them not want to come back home..lol. I called and spoke with a biologist in the salmon area and he said that while mulie numbers are not at an all time high he did say that the farther you get in, the more deer you will see. I have never hunted mulies before and would appretiate any info I can gather from anyones wisdom of hunting out west.
Thanks for you time, KK
