I drew a antelope tag in 46 with my wife daughter and brother as we put in for a group hunt.
Good luck to everyone else.

Congrats! Have you hunted this unit before and have it scoped out already? Now remember to give the wife, daughter, and son a chance to fill the tag too!

Bitmasher I do not shoot game for anyone. My daughter and wife both came to me with wanting to hunt as I spend so much time gone they want to also hunt with me. So they will be do there own shooting. I bought my daughter a 243 savage in the youth model so she could hunt and shoot her own.
But yes I have hunted down there archery actually. So do know of some places to hunt and also my wife's son's uncle owns some farming ground down there also.

I was just pulling your leg, Supersider.

Sounds like a great way to get everybody involved with the hunt. We don't have group tags here in CO, although I have read about them in other states.

Anyway good luck, hope the family enjoys it. An antelope hunt should be a great first hunting experience for your daughter.

I just always see or hear of people taken others game. That bothers me. My wife got into it to see why i liked it so much and likes it except gets frustrated with the deer out there but still thinks its fun. My daughter which I talk about hunting and she see's me like it so much came to me and asked if she could hunt. I told her when the time comes then she could. well she is eager to go so i am more than willing to take her. She is in the 7th grade and is trying for cheerleading and drill team. So to look at her you would not know she would hunt. Can't wait till we are out there hunting with both my wife and daughter.

Yeah cheerleader usually isn't in the resume for most hunters, but nothing wrong with it. If she has color guard experience it might help in "flagging" in a 'lope! If that's legal in ID....

Hopefully they will enjoy the hunt then you will have gained a few hunting partners. If they don't enjoy it, then at the least it will be a learning experience for them.

If Colorado does not have a "group tag", what do you call a group application for tags for the same species in Colorado?? I would say this is a "group tag" in Colorado.

I call it a group application for individual tags its not a group tag. In CO's case, members of a group all draw one tag each or none draw a tag in the group. This is not a group tag.

A group tag is a license for 1 animal of which a party of hunters, usually 3-5 people, can legally take the animal. I know at least Ontario does this with moose tags.

When Supersider said he had drawn a group hunt, I assumed he meant a "group tag", although I don't know for sure whether this is what he meant. Perhaps he, his wife, and daughter all drew a pronghorn tag in the same fashion as a CO group application.

Sorry Bitmasher didnt know of any other ways of group hunt. We all drew 1 tag each. Group hunt here in Idaho means if 1 person draws then all others do. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem, I should have asked....

I understand now why you didn't think I was joking though about letting your daughter/wife do the shooting! Would have been illegal....
