Idaho area 27

Hello everyone,
this will be my first time hunting black bears in Idaho, and will be hunting the middle fork area. I spend alot of time in this area in the spring and fall doing the steelhead gig and know what kind of terrain I am getting myself into (lol) but has anyone ever hunted this area before? Is there good size boars around? I will be doing a spot and stalk and hopefully have some success.My time frame is the middle to late may, any help would be very appreciated.

Idaho area 27

My friend and I plan on heading up to 27 latter on in May. Their are good reports of big bears up there. It is really hard terrain from what I hear, that is why it is a two bear bag limit.

tikkaman, It looks like the 20th of May is when I will be there and plan on a week there and see what happens.

Hunting Tip: Make Your Own Cover Scent

When it comes to scent, there are basically two types; those that attract and those that mask. I've tried both on many occasions. There are lots and lots of "doe in heat" scents, designed to attract a big buck into range. I've also used a "cow in heat" scent while elk hunting. Another scent would almost be better named as a "coverup smell". The main goal is to cover up human odor or mask it. Though I don't believe you can ever totally eliminate all human...
