ID Elk

I live in Eastern, WA and am starting to put together a plan to bowhunt elk in ID either this fall or next fall. I'm pretty new to elk hunting in general, so I would really like to find an area with good numbers of animals (if they happen to be good size that would be a bonus). Does anyone have any pointers on which units might be good to start thinking about and looking into? Thanks!

check out unit 4, it is close enough spokane that you can look aound for your self. Yes it is treed and thick and lots of hunters but we have a fair amount of elk. If you are willing to hunt where the 4 wheelers can't or don't go, you will find decent hunting.
