Ice Fishing Lake Nipissing, Ont.

The Mrs, two dogs and myself went up to Lake Nipissing Ont for a little R&R a week ago.  Had a great time, rented a "ice cabin" on the lake about 3 miles out.  Had 2 sets of bunks a small kitchenet, gas heat and lights and cook top and 4 holes cut in the floor. (also an attached port-o-john)

Fishing wasnt great but caught a bunch of (wrong sized) walleyes, dink perch and mudpuppy's.  did catch one dandy whitefish about 5lbs.

Great time was had by all.

First is a photo of the hut, second my whitefish.  Third is my wife with a mudpuppy then one of her in the bunk with a glass of wine, reading and fishing.  She is quite the multitasker (and a real trooper when it comes to vacations!)

Snob (lol)

...and you drove right by my house and didn't even wave. Stuck up. Nippissing's fishery has pretty much collapsed, the local touism industry there is living off its reputation, but its been YEARS (no foolin) since I've heard of anyone getting any decent action up there. Most reports sound just like yours. Sweet set up though. Next time you're planning on heading up that way gimme a shout; I know a better option in the backwoods near North Bay (trout, pike and perch).
