Spent the weekend on Blue Mesa with the wife. Had a great time catching over 50 perch and 6 trout. Perch were decent size and sure are good eating. Trout ran 12-16 inches and were a lot of fun to bring thru the hole
Thanks and yes they are good eating. Headed back out this coming weekend for the last ice trip of the year. We will still have good ice for another month or so however all our weekends are now booked thru June. Looking forward to open water and have several weekends booked for that.
When placing a trail camera don't just look for a well used trail. What you want to do is look for a freshly used trail off by itself that goes from a north facing ridge, thick forest, brushy knob or some other similar bedding area to a food source. Don't forget water sources. Especially in the summer months the deer need water so look for a good trail going down too a creek surrounded by thick cover and place the camera 100 yards up from the water source.
Scent control is very important...
