Okay - features:

1. Bigger than the birds we got the other day - but not as big as a cow.

2. Beard length: 8 in.

3. Tail feather length: 16 in.

4. Wing feather length: 18 in.

5. Thing that comes out of their head and droops all over: 4 or 5 in.

6. Spurs: 1-1/8 in.

7. Aroma: ughhhhh...

Question: do wild turkey always smell this [deleted]? The only other creatures I have ever cleaned that smell as remotely unpleasant were the younger toms we got a few weeks earlier. Is this a condition of breeding season?

I don't know how these features `rate' with other toms.

Reminds me of an old hog farmer I use to know.
When someone would complain about the smell he would tell them it smelled like money to him Big smile
Congrats on your second bird Thumbs up

I'll be honest - I didn't get an exact measurement because I didn't want to touch it.

Here's a pic of my second bird. The watch is mine, of course. As it turned out - I didn't have much outdoor gear with me - just shotgun and shells. No string, nothin! I tried to secure the tag with the velcro on my watch, but then decided to just notch it and put it in my pocket. I had to notch the tag with my ignition key.
