You should have put this in the wild pig postings. Anyway You will see plenty of game (elk ,deer, hogs) at FHL. There are alot of diferent units on the site some better than others. The weather is perfect for hog hunting over there know. Should be good after the rain stops.
i got a bear show down and bear grizzly recurve. Have been using compound bear show down. still no luck. got a jack rabbit tho. not discouraged still trying. Any tips would help.
ps hoggetter wats the pig pamplet u were talking about???
It is a western half of CA topo mapbook of all the blm land with good access for pig hunting and directions and where to park your truck and starting points. I gave mine to my brother three weeks ago to use, and he likes it and dont wanta give it back yet
Who makes this mapbook you're talking about? I have several BLM maps, but I haven't found them to be that useful. They do point out BLM land, but nothing about access, let alone parking. I'm always on the lookout for good resources...finding hunting land in CA is miserably tough.
If you're lucky enough to be on private land and can leave your stand up during the off season you can tie an old piece of cloth or something of the sort to your stand. I like to use an old camo bandana that I have. That way the deer get used to the movement and eventually don't bother even looking up when there is slight movement. This may just give you the time to draw your bow or raise your gun without being detected.
