overload

smaller trucks will get the job done. Wish I had a pick of this one but it was in the 2007 cow rifle hunt in unit 34 in southern NM, my daughter, son-in-law, and myself were driving on a road meeting a small Toyota a bought a mid 90s model with 3 guys in the front seat and 1 I thought on the cab, when we drove past he was on top of 4 cow elk dressed out. The pickup was down on its axles.

All I COULD SAY WAS GOOD JOB GUYS

I suppose it can be done, but why overload a vehicle if you shouldn't.  I'd hate to have a tire blow or and axle damaged due to overload, especially on rough roads or off-road.  I've seen smaller trucks like a Tacoma perform just fine for transporting elk out of camp, but that vehicle only had one or two occupants in it with all of our camping/hunting gear thrown in my Ram 1500.  I'm just saying.

I have a Nissian Pathfinder,

I have a Nissian Pathfinder, Its a great little mountain 4x4. I havent had any problems with it, and havent had any problems with getting animals out of the wood either(even elk). I usally fold down the back seats and the back turns into a covered bed. if i need to get an elk out i just hook up my little utility trailer (4.5x8). I am however gonna get a new truck when I'm done paying off my wifes mini van. hopefully next year. I'm leaning towards either a Nissian titan or Chevy silverado.
