Hunting time?

Would you rather hunt the morning or the evening? If you could only get out once a day which would you pick?

For me , especially elk hunting, it would have to be the evening.

I'ld take the morning.  But I

I'ld take the morning.  But I have seen a lot of bigger deer and elk step out of the timber just before dark.

Early or Late?

Easy question that's kinda tough to answer.  I'd have to pick mornings but thinking about it a majority of game killed were taken in the evening but after being located in the early hours of the morning.

All but one of the animals

All but one of the animals I've harvested have been in the evening. I would have to go with what has worked for me. Although I hunt all day long.

I'm gonna go with mornings, I

I'm gonna go with mornings, I have killed all my animals in the am, I like to get it them from the bed instead of going to it...sounds good right.  I like to hunt all day though!

Mid day

I usually hunt all day but if I had to choose 1 particular time..... it would be mid day, 10:30-3:30.

98% of my deer kills have been between those times.

I too would say morning, as

I too would say morning, as I'd much rather have an animal on the ground early am than at dark:30.  Too easy to be in a rush and have someone get hurt(cut gutting) or injured hauling meat out in the dark.  Plus, you always ask yourself, are those beady yellow eyes on the edge of your lamplight a wolf, griz, or a passing porcupine?       Everyone can involuntarily shudder now.       Liar

Like everyone else, I hunt from sunup to sundown and take what opportunity presents itself.

opening weekend I try to stay

opening weekend I try to stay out all day from sunup to sundown. Down here in Florida I'd much rather go to my stand before sunrise in the morning and get setup then doing it it in the middle of the heat for an afternoon hunt. I've had great hunts both in morning and afternoons though.

It really depends on what the moon is doing
