How is everyone doing this year?Seeing any Deer? Getting any Deer?

My hunting so far this year has been limited but have seen a few deer, does and fawns but so far no bucks. Tomorrrow and Tuesday cloudy with flurries on Monday and then cloudy with showers on Tuesday.Should be fairly good days and I know I am looking forward to spending both days in the woods.

Hope ot maybe have a good story to tell next week.

Looks like it going to be a white morning. Snowing right now as I type this, in Pictou County.

I haven't been doing anything too serious, but may get my butt in gear tomorrow.

I'm the same here. I have seen a couple of deer in the very short time I have hunted this season but they have been does and yearlings. Not an antler amoung them. I am only going to get a couple more small kicks at the can and then I'll have to search the web for a good "deer tag" recipe. Thumbs up

Update:- Got a nice little spike 8:30 Monday morning. Now the rest of the season will be spent visiting and relaxing. Trying to add picture but don't know how? Here they are. Not big but plenty of fat and should be tender. Plan on making some sausage and head cheese.

As a follow-up to this story. I shot my deer on Monday last week. On Wednesday I went in to get my seat with a buddy of mine. At 10:30 in the morning we were just standing there chatting and a nice 8 PT buck walked out right in front of us not more than 20 yards away. Then on Saturday I was in hunting partridge and another nice buck walked right across the road in front of me. That was 12 noon. Seems like there are lots of deer around.

Father-in-law got a 3x3 two weeks ago.

My brother got a 5x5 and his buddy a 4x4 same day but that was back home. They had real good hunt this year, I'll post the pics and story once I'm back and have more bandwidth.

How is everyone doing now that the deer season is over. Anything new to report. I had 20 lbs of sausage made and must say I was disappointed in the taste. Really dry. Maybe they needed some more pork. Anyone have any ideas?

It looks like the rabbit season is dead with all the snow. Oh well something for the coyotes to eat so they can leave the deer alone. I would think this snow would even be a little difficult for the young.

Anyway will close for now and wait for suggestions on the sausage.
