My hunting partner and I are looking for a place to hunt this fall. I thought someone told me that Nebraska has non-resident over the counter mule deer tags. Can someone confirm this? Also, I understand there is a lot of public land in northwest corner of the state. Is this true? We have hunted for 30 years mostly in Montana for muleys, goats, and elk. We are looking at a DIY hunt. Can anybody offer any suggestions?

Yes, there is a lot of public hunting out there. Can't remember the lake we turkey hunted at but it had thousands of acres and we saw lots of Muleys. Nebraska wbsite has info. Also we called Nebraska and they gave us a number for a Biologist it that area and he steard us in the right direction.
