Hunting in Labrador

My brother is heading out to Happy Valley Goose Bay, Labrador for a year and apperently there is good hunting. I'm wondering when the best time of year to go it, I'm probably not looking at big game because they require you to be with a guide, and he knows a few people out there that hunt. Also what species I should be looking at? I'm not too picky.

Hunting in Labrador

Well if you are not going for big game then that just leaves small game and birds. Should be lots of ptarmigan up that way, as well as spruce grouse and waterfowl. There are also snowshoe hares and arctic hares.

Hunting Tip: Portable Deer or Turkey Feeder

I have a friend who loves to use deer feeders that will hold like 5- 40 pound bags of feed or corn, and wants help hauling them deep into the woods where he has amazingly located the perfect spot for this 30 pound battery operated tripod that will only be there for a couple of weeks each year.
