Hunting Knife Give Away

Folks, here is a custom made hunting knife from Creative Knife Works in Elgin SC.

These knifes are made by my buddy in a small shop at his house.

They are of ATS 34 steel with a RC 58-60 hardness.

This one has a red jig bone handle.

His website is www.creativeknifeworks.com and his email is wleeoquinn@bellsouth.net. His name is Lee O’Quinn and his phone number is 803 438 8322.

If you want to contact him for any reason, please use the phone or the email address – the contact link in the website is balky and he is going to go to a new provider for the site soon.. this was a DIY site that did not work out so well.

The knives are made on a very limited basis and are one-of’s for each one.

I love being able to pull a knife out and have someone remark – “Hey, let me see that knife”.

I have several of these knives and have given several away over the years as presents.

This knife has never been used and I have owned it for about 5 years. It is being given away by me and not by Creative Knife Works... I am doing this solely as a way to give something back to BGH and to create interest,

OK – now… who is the knife being given to?

Thanks!

Jim

knife give away

How fun and generous Jim! Might want to explain what people need to do to sign up or how they can get in on the give away. You could have people list their interest right here on the forum and then you pull a name out of the hat.

The knives on his site are beautiful! Very nice work.

OK Folks, here is the deal...

OK Folks, here is the deal... as you can see, our talented and lovely Moderator has suggested some more guidelines and I will comply.

I was going to let you folks muddle around for a while - but the Mod has spoken so here we go...

The knife is beautiful... it does show some spots from sitting in the leather case for years - but it is razor sharp and I consider it a great show or work piece...

The contest will run until midnight Sunday night, 2 Jan 2011 - whomever has discovered this post and has replied (openly, on this forum) with the what I consider the BEST one line sentence on why BigGameHunt.net is the absolute BEST outdoor and hunting related website will win the knife - no questions asked.

I am the only judge however and my rulings are final.

The knife will be shipped free of charge.

It is an original one of a kind creation... there is not another one in the world.

Pass this on to your buddies... or not... the contest begins now.

Best of luck!

Jim

BIGGAMEHUNT.net is the BEST

Here's my entry:

WWW.BigGameHunt.Net is unquestionably the absolute BEST outdoor and hunting related website because Jim Boyd (who's new nickname is henceforth 'LD' because the Lead Dog sets the pace for the rest of the pack who follows, and Jim surely has set the pace in this winter's BigGameHunt.Net December 2010 race for points!) is among the amazing members here who like Ed, and Jerry, Sean, and the others among you who have welcomed me to the site, and encouraged me to participate (some even going so far as to offer me pointers on how to earn more points with my posts) because they see me not just as a challenger to them for the excellent prizes put up by VANGUARD that we are all competing for; but as a friend and companion who shares a kinship with them in our love for all that is involved in big game hunting whether the game pursued is antelope or zebra or anything in between and have been willing to share their knowledge and experience; and most importantly because I hereby concede defeat to the Lead Dog for the first place prize in this challenge because despite my every effort to squeeze the maximum number of points from every rambling reply to posts with run on sentences like this one - the fact that Jim (remember henceforth known as LD) is so hard working and relentlessly dedicated to earning that top prize that I recognize that it would take both broken fingers and a power outage in his location combined with an all day and all night points earning blitz on my end for me to have any hope at all of catching him - therefore I say that as of this moment LD can relax and take the rest of the day off to enjoy New Year's Eve, savor impending victory, and look forward to enjoying the year ahead in 2011 while boxing up that fine looking knife that he has so kindly and generously offered to us in this give-away,

Mike.

Wow, Mike - what a reply! I

Wow, Mike - what a reply!

I thought of you initially when I decided to give the knife away - because you raved so about the Knives of Alaska set I got...

I know you hoped for a power outage - and I think I did see the lights flicker a time or two last night - but alas, they stayed on.

Oh yeah, I have a genset in the garage, also...

The month has been tough and I did not see anyone work any harder than you did - you have been relentless - no one is going to doubt that.

If we had the month to do over again - we could have capitalized on more points... heck I did not even realize there was a story and hint limit until the month was about half over... I was stunned and felt like my entire strategy had backfired.

I watched Ed catch and pass me - with your right on his tail - I was powerless to do anything about it.

Now, anything we can do to elevate BGH and bring more users in is a great thing...

Best of luck in both contests!

Jim

Quinton, I would love for you

Quinton,

I would love for you to have the knife... it would end up being used (probably) to clean an elk and that would delight me!
